Picture this (get it?): Santa walks into the YMCA Christmas Ball. A huge crowd is there, ready to dance the night away. There, in the lobby, is one very professional looking photography setup. At the helm of all this is Kat Palma, Professional Photographer out of Lexington, Kentucky, and as Santa soon found out, another one of the ‘greats’.

Throughout the evening, many of the over 800 guests stood in line, waiting to have their picture taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus, some even going through more than once! Kat was unflappable – making sure each guest got the perfect photo. Kat’s elves were nearby, printing out each photo so everyone could take a copy home!

I like a statement on Kat’s website: she refers to herself as a ‘stealth’ photographer – “…catching the moment when others are not watching. Providing my clients with beautiful images that freeze a moment in time for them to cherish for a lifetime is why I do this work”.

Kat, I know ALL the attendees at the YMCA Christmas Ball will cherish their images forever!

Progressive Photography – A Central Kentucky Gem!

Santa was fortunate to work with several fine photographers this season! You know, if you have a good photographer, everyone looks good, Santa’s job is a little bit easier, and families have wonderful photos to share with others.

If you have a “Great” photographer, not only is the photography wonderful, but the families have an incredible experience that becomes a treasured memory. Myles Young with Progressive Photography is one of the ‘greats’. He and his elves offered the “Santa Experience” to their customers. Children (of all ages) were able to fill out a wish list, visit with Santa and talk about what they would like to get, and GIVE, for Christmas. All the while, Myles was taking dozens of outstanding spontaneous and posed photos.

If you have the opportunity, don’t pass up the chance to work with Myles and the fine folks at Progressive Photography. Maybe Santa will see you at the next Santa Experience!

A Wonderful Season!

My oh my!!  What an incredible Christmas season it was! Santa was able to spend time with so many of his friends, and the “Nice” list was longer than it’s ever been!

The elves outdid themselves this year, and the reindeer nailed all their take-offs and landings!

And the cookies….oh, the cookies were DELICIOUS!

While most of us at the North Pole are still enjoying our ‘long winter’s nap’, Santa wanted to be able to give big ‘thank yous’ to some of the fine folk who helped make this Christmas season extraordinary. So, over the next few days, I’ll be writing about them, and perhaps, if you see them during the year, you can add your thanks as well!

Jackson’s Red Golf Ball

Recently Santa was able to visit with his good friend Jackson. Jackson has been on Santa’s Nice list since his very first Christmas!

Earlier this year, Jackson was playing putt-putt golf at Disney World – it is one of Santa’s favorites because it has a beautiful Christmas theme! Jackson had a great time throughout the whole course and really loved his red golf ball!

On the 18th hole, Jackson’s red golf ball went into the hole for the last time. But Jackson did not get his ball back!! After thinking about it, Jackson decided that since it was a Christmas golf course, the ball had traveled all the way to Santa at the North Pole. And he was right!

Santa knew he would be seeing Jackson soon, and when they got together, Jackson and his red golf ball were reunited!!

Here Comes Santa Claus!

Even though it is only September, Santa’s schedule is already filling up nicely! Santa just loves being able to visit with as many boys and girls as he can; it’s so heartwarming to see how good everyone has been, especially this year!

Not long ago Santa had the honor of attending a birthday party! Let me tell you, what a wonderful time that was: an entire roomful of good little girls and boys, and all their parents and grandparents! This week, Santa received a note from the mother of the birthday boy:

“Our son requested a Christmas theme party for his 4th birthday. I knew that  having Santa come visit the party was a must. Santa Ralph was recommended by a friend and I am so glad we had him at the party. Santa Ralph made sure to interact with each and every guest, take pictures, tell stories and even brought Mrs. Claus along for the visit. I would highly recommend him at any Christmas gathering you have. He definitely made the party a hit and our guests are still talking about it. Thanks for helping make Keaton’s wish of Santa coming to his party a reality!  “

Have you gone over to the Come See Santa” page yet? There you will find a calendar of all the events Santa Ralph will be attending. More events are added each week, so be sure to keep checking – Santa would love to see you this year!

Stay nice!

Lists

Lots of times, children ask Santa about his “Naughty or Nice” lists, especially, how can Santa keep up with ALL the children in the world?!?

Santa can tell you, it’s a group effort! Without the Elves and Mrs. Claus, Santa would never be able to make a list, never mind about checking it twice!  Plus, Santa has even more helpers – all the Mommies and Daddies, Teachers, Bus drivers, even babysitters act as Santa’s eyes and ears! They send their reports to the North Pole every day! Why just this morning, Santa was reading reports about Tyler and Camron, and Ally and Willow, just to name a few! And what good reports they were! Santa hopes that all the reports coming to the North Pole will be as good as those!

As of right this moment, there are only 122 days left until Christmas – so let’s all do our best to stay on the Nice list – be helpful at home, be kind to everyone, and keep Christmas in your heart, all year round!

Making that list!

Santa’s Watch

Did you know that Santa wears a special watch? Not only does it tell time, but it lets Santa know when he is needed back at the North Pole. All the Elves (or Mrs. Claus!) have to do is go to the “Find Santa Machine” and pull the lever, which sends a signal out all over the world until it reaches Santa’s watch. The two tubes on the watch begin to glow, letting Santa know he must contact his workshop right away!

Next time you see Santa, be sure to check out his watch! Have you ever seen a watch like this before?
